Thank God It’s Friday

It’s NEVER too late to start something NEW

Thank God It’s Friday

Wishing for the end of each week to arrive is sadly all too common. Those who do, clearly don’t enjoy what they do, and the majority are very much looking forward to retirement. Depressing I know, especially when the average UK life expectancy for men and women is 80 and 83 respectively.

From my experience through coaching clients, the biggest cause of frustration and stress is a lack of direction, no real purpose or doing something that doesn’t excite them but feel trapped in order to pay the bills.

Setting goals is a great way to get out of this rut. Goals are milestones you set for yourself, which will stretch you as a person in both your personal and business life. It’s more about the person you become as a result of achieving the goal and less to do with the outcome itself.

When you think of what goals or challenges you’d like to achieve, take some time to think why you want it, because the reason for doing it needs to be strong enough to pull you along and stay disciplined.

Have you been wishing to do something for a while, but it hasn’t happened or turned out as you’d hoped? What’s the main reason for you wanting to do this? Will it stretch you as a person? Is it something that excites you? Does it push you outside of your comfort zone?

Thinking of doing something new that feels huge can be overwhelming and stop you in your tracks. The key is to break the task into smaller chunks, so it feels less daunting and manageable. Then, no matter how small – TAKE ACTION!

Action has genius in it as it’ll help to move you one step closer to your goal. Not taking action on something you’ve set out to do will have a negative impact on your self-confidence, so having the discipline to do the little things that matter each day is crucial. As the late Jim Rohn once said – ‘We must all suffer from one of two pains; the pain of discipline or the pain of regret. The difference is that discipline weighs ounces while regret weighs tons.’

The reason the coaching process is so effective is that it helps to raise the clients’ awareness and offers the kind of support you won’t get from friends, family or work colleagues.

Insanity is when you expect a different result, be that more freedom, more money in the bank, more clients, more friends, better work/life balance but end up doing the same thing week-in-week-out.

If this resonates with you, take time out today to find out what you really want to do and take action!
